Ronnie Self wrote this song in 1959. It was first recorded by Brenda Lee. It was released as a single with Weep No More My Baby on the B-side. It reached number four on both the Billboard chart and the UK singles chart. The Searchers covered the song in 1963 and released it as a single with What’d I Say on the B-side. A live version by them recorded at the Star-Club was released in 1964 on the album “Sweets For My Sweet” – The Searchers At The Star-Club Hamburg. The Pete Best Band recorded the song in 1999 for their album Casbah Coffee Club.
