Black Magic Woman was written by Peter Green and was first recorded by Fleetwood Mac in 1968. Santana recorded the song in 1970. Their version was a medley with the instrumental song Gypsy Queen. Gypsy Queen was written by Gabor Szabo in 1966. Santana’s version was released on their 1970 album Abraxas. The song was also released as a single in 1970 with Hope You’re Feeling Better on the B-side. The single reached number one on the Billboard chart. Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen was part of the repertoire of Ringo Starr And His All Starr Band and was sung by Gregg Rolie.
