Saint Paul.

Saint Paul was written by Terry Knight and recorded by him in 1969. The song is a novelty song about the rumours of Paul McCartney’s death. The lyrics mention The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The song also uses lyrics from The Beatles’ songs Strawberry Fields Forever,A Day In The Life, Hello Goodbye, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, She Loves You, and All You Need Is Love. Musically the song uses elements of The Beatles’ songs Hey Jude and A Day In The Life. Saint Paul was released as a single in 1969. The B-side was (The Legend Of) William And Mary. It is one of a number of novelty songs about the ‘Paul is dead’ rumours.
