1952 Love Is The Sweetest Thing – Al Bowlly (1932)

Love Is The Sweetest Thing.

This song was written by Ray Noble and Charles Wilmott and was first recorded by Jack Payne And His Band in 1932. Al Bowlly recorded the song the same year. It was released as a single with I’ll Do My Best To Make You Happy on the B-side. Paul McCartney liked the song and he produced a version recorded by Mary Hopkin for her 1969 album Post Card. That version features Paul McCartney on guitar and bass.
