John, You Went Too Far This Time.

This song was written by Ron Dulka and John Marshall. The song is about John Lennon and the Two Virgins album cover. The lyrics have references to The Beatles’ songs I Want To Hold Your Hand, Yellow Submarine, The Fool On The Hill, and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. The song also references the “more popular than Jesus” controversy, The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Beatles’ 1968 trip to India as well as John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Two Virgins album cover. Musically, the song makes references to The Beatles songs She’s Leaving Home and Penny Lane.  The song was recorded by actress Sissy Spacek under the pseudonym Rainbo. It was released as a single in 1969 with C’Mon Teach Me To Live on the B-side.
