1880 Please Mrs. Henry – Bob Dylan And The Band (1967)

Please Mrs. Henry was written by Bob Dylan in 1967. It was recorded by Bob Dylan and The Band at Woodstock, New York in 1967. The recording was not officially released at the time. It was included on an acetate of demos that circulated among interested recording artists. George Harrison  and Ringo Starr both owned copies of the acetate. George Harrison played part of Please Mrs. Henry during the Let It Be session in 1969. The song was first officially released by Chris Spedding in 1970. Please Mrs. Henry has also been recorded by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, and Cheap Trick. Bob Dylan and The Band’s version was first officially released on the 1975 album The Basement Tapes.
