1792 Unfinished Music No.1 -Two Virgins -John Lennon and Yoko Ono (1968)

This Avant-garde album was recorded by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1968. It was recorded at John Lennon’s home in Kenwood, Surrey and was produced by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. The album contains one avant-garde piece separated into two parts. Two Virgins Side One contains a snippet of the song Together. Two Virgins Side Two contains a snippet of an unknown song titled Hushabye Hushabye. The recording also includes tape loops made by John Lennon and Pete Shotton. The album was released on The Beatles’ record label Apple Records in November 1968. The photos used on the album cover was taken by John Lennon. The back cover of the album includes a quote by Paul McCartney. The album failed to chart in the UK and reached number one hundred and twenty-four on the Billboard chart. Paul McCartney owned a copy of the album.
