1779 Yer Blues – The Beatles (1968)

This song was written by John Lennon but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. A demo version recorded by The Beatles at George Harrison’s home is Esher in 1968 has never been released. The Beatles recorded the song at EMI Studios in 1968 and it was produced by George Martin. Yer Blues was first released on The Beatles’ 1968 album The Beatles. The song was also released on the The Ballad Of John And Yoko EP in Thailand in 1969. The EP also included Old Brown Shoe and Don’t Pass Me By. The song was part of John Lennon’s repertoire and a live version recorded by The Dirty Mac at The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus in 1968 was released in 1996 on the album The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus. A version recorded by The Plastic Ono Band in Toronto in 1969 was released on the 1969 album Live Peace In Toronto 1969.
