The Marmalade.

This song was written by Paul McCartney but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was first recorded by The Beatles in 1968. Scottish band The Marmalade recorded the song the same year. The end of their version adds the lines “And if you want some jam sing Ob-La-Di, Bla-da”. Their version was produced by Mike Smith. It was released as a single with Chains on the B-side. The single reached number one on the UK Singles chart. The Beatles played The Marmalade’s version during the Let It Be sessions in 1969 adding the last line.
