Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da was written by Paul McCartney but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. A demo recorded by The Beatles at George Harrison’s home in Esher has never been released. The Beatles recorded the song at EMI Studios in 1968 and it was produced by George Martin. Take 5 was released on Anthology 3 in 1996. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da was first released on The Beatles’ 1968 album The Beatles. The song was released as a single in Jamaica in 1968 with Sexy Sadie on the B-side. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da was released as a single in Australia in 1969 with While My Guitar Gently Weeps on the B-side. It reached number one on the Australian singles chart. The song has also been recorded by The Marmalade, The Bedrocks, and Arthur Conley among others.The Beatles played the song during the Let It Be sessions in 1969. George Harrison and Phil Spector played the song during a jam session in 1971. The song is also part of Paul McCartney’s repertoire.
