This song was written and recorded by James Taylor in 1968. A line in the song, “holy host of others standing around me”, is a reference to The Beatles. Carolina In My Mind was recorded at Trident Studios and was produced by Peter Asher. The recording features Paul McCartney on bass and backing vocals, George Harrison on backing vocals, and Peter Asher on tambourine and backing vocals. Carolina In My Mind was first released on the 1968 album James Taylor. It was later released as a single in America in 1969. The B-side was Something’s Wrong. The single was released in the UK in 1970.
