1725 Revolution – The Beatles (1968)

This song was written by John Lennon but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was first recorded by The Beatles in 1968. A demo version recorded at George Harrison’s home in Esher has never been released. Revolution was recorded at EMI Studios and was produced by George Martin. Take 2 was released as Revolution 1 on the album The Beatles in 1968. The Beatles later recorded a faster and louder version of Revolution. That version features Nicky Hopkins on electric piano. That version was first released as the B-side to Hey Jude in 1968. The single reached number one on the UK singles chart and the Billboard chart. The Beatles also recorded an avant-garde version of the song titled Revolution 9. A new remix was released on The Beatles’ 2006 album Love.
