This song was written by Bob Dylan and was first recorded by him 1967. Bob Dylan first released his version of the song on his 1970 album Self Portrait. The song was recorded by Manfred Mann in 1968. The recording features Klaus Voormann on bass and flute. It was released as a single with By Request – Edwin Garvey on the B-side. It reached number one on the UK Singles chart and number ten on the Billboard chart. The Beatles played the song during the Let It Be sessions in 1969.
