1684 Music From Big Pink – The Band (1968)


UK Release.

Music From Big Pink was the debut album released by The Band. It was recorded in 1968 and was produced by John Simon. The Band had previously worked as Bob Dylan’s backing band. The album was released on the Capitol label in 1968 and contained eleven songs including The Weight, This Wheel’s On Fire, and I Shall Be Released. Bob Dylan wrote or co-wrote three of the songs on the album and the cover artwork is a painting by him. George Harrison was a fan of both Bob Dylan and The Band and he owned a copy of this album. John Lennon also owned a copy of the album.
