This song was written by Paul McCartney but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. A demo version recorded by Paul McCartney in 1967 was released on Anthology 2 in 1996. The Beatles recorded the song in 1967. It was recorded at EMI Studios and was produced by George Martin. The recording features Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder of The Moody Blues on harmonica. Take 4 was released in 1996 on the album Anthology 2. The Fool On The Hill was first released on The Beatles’ American album Magical Mystery Tour in 1967. In the UK the song was released in 1967 on the double EP Magical Mystery Tour. The Song is referenced in The Beatles’ 1968 song Glass Onion.  The Beatles’ 1968 song Dear Prudence has similar backing vocals to The Fool On The Hill. A new remix was released on as a bonus track on the 2011 iTunes release of The Beatles’ 2006 album Love. The song has also been recorded by Four Tops, Petula Clark, and Ray Stevens among others. The song is part of Paul McCartney’s repertoire. Live versions have been released on Tripping The Live Fantastic (1990), Back In The U.S. (2002) and Back In The World (2003).
