This song was written by John Lennon but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was first recorded by The Beatles in 1967. It was recorded at Olympic Sound Studios and EMI Studios in London. All You Need Is Love was produced by George Martin. The recording features George Martin on piano. Backing vocals and hand claps were provided by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Keith Moon, Graham Nash, Eric Clapton, Marianne Faithfull, Mike McGear, Jane Asher, and Patti Boyd among others. The Beatles performed the song on the first live global television link, Our World. All You Need Is Love was first released as a single in 1967. The B-side was Baby You’re A Rich Man. The single reached number one on the UK Singles chart and the Billboard chart. A new remix was released on The Beatles’ 2006 album Love.

The song has also been recorded by The Hollyridge Strings, and The 5th Dimension among others. The song has been performed live by Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney performed the song live at Party At The Palace in 2002. He was joined on stage by Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and Eric Clapton among others. That version was released on the 2002 album Party At The Palace – The Queen’s Concerts, Buckingham Palace.
