Strawberry Fields Forever was written by John Lennon in 1966. It is credited to Lennon-McCartney. A sequence of demos recorded by John Lennon in 1966 was released on Anthology 2 in 1996. The song was recorded by The Beatles in 1966. It was recorded at EMI Studios and was produced by George Martin. The recording features Mal Evans on tambourine and Neil Aspinall on guiro. Take 1 and Take 7 and an edit piece were released on Anthology 2 in 1996. Strawberry Fields Forever was first released as a double A-side single with Penny Lane in 1967. Strawberry Fields Forever reached number eight on the Billboard chart and number two on the UK Singles chart. The song is mentioned in The Beatles’ 1968 song Glass Onion.  A new remix was released on The Beatles’ 2006 album Love. Paul McCartney performed the song live as part of a John Lennon medley in 1990.The medley was released on the 1990 single All My Trials.
