This song was written by Bob Feldman, Jerry Goldstein and Richard Gottehrer. It was first recorded by The McCoys in 1965. Merseybeat duo The Merseys recorded the song in 1966. It was released as a single with Some Other Day on the B-side. It was The Merseys’ debut single.  It reached number four on the UK Singles chart. George Harrison used a line from the song, “with your long blonde hair and your eyes of blue”, in The Beatles’ 1969 song It’s All Too Much from their album Yellow Submarine.
