This song was written by Jim McGuinn and David Crosby in 1965. It was first recorded by The Byrds in 1966 and was released as the B-side to Eight Miles High. The single reached number twenty-four on the UK Singles chart and number fourteen on the Billboard chart. The song was influenced by sitar player Ravi Shankar and was played to George Harrison by Jim McGuinn in 1965, sparking his interesting in Ravi Shankar.
