This song was written by James Brown and was originally titled Try Me (I Need You). It was first recorded by James Brown And The Famous Flames in 1958. It was released as a single and reached number one on the R&B chart. James Brown And The Famous Flames re-recorded the song in 1963. James Brown recorded an instrumental version in 1965. It was released as a single with an instrumental version of Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag on the B-side. It reached number thirty-four on the R&B chart and number sixty-three on the Billboard chart. George Harrison had the single on his 1966 jukebox.
