Proby recorded the song in 1965. P.J. Proby was managed by Brian Epstein and That Means A Lot was recorded at EMI Studios and arranged by George Martin. It was released as a single with My Prayer on the B-side. It reached number thirty on the UK Singles chart. In America it was released with Let The Water Run Down on the B-side.
