This song was written by Liverpudlian songwriter Bobby Willis in 1965. It was first recorded by Cilla Black. It was recorded at EMI Studios and was produced by George Martin. It was released as the B-side to You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ in 1965. The single reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. The song was used in the Gerry And The Pacemakers’ 1965 movie Ferry Cross The Mersey which also starred Cilla Black.
