This album of experimental electronic music was recorded by German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen in 1965. It was recorded at West German Radio Studios in Cologne, Germany in June and December 1965. Mikrophonie I was composed in 1964 and Mikrophonie II was composed in 1965. The album was first released in 1965 in Germany on the CBS label. It was released in the UK and US in 1967. Paul McCartney was a fan of Karlheinz Stockhausen and he was included on the cover of The Beatles’ 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
