This song was written by Roy Lee Johnson and was recorded by Dr. Feelgood And The Interns in 1962. It was recorded by The Beatles in 1964. It was recorded at EMI Studios and was produced by George Martin. An edit of takes 1 and 4 was released in 1995 on the album Anthology 1. Outtakes from the recording sessions were used in Paul McCartney’s 2000 song Plastic Beetle from his album Liverpool Sound Collage. The song was first released in 1964 on the album Beatles For Sale. In Japan it was released as a single in 1965 with What You’re Doing on the B-side. The song was part of The Beatles repertoire and a live version recorded in 1962 was released in 1977 on the album Live! At The Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962.
