This song was written by John Lennon but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was first recorded by The Beatles in 1964. It was recorded at EMI Studios and produced by George Martin. Take 6 was released in 1995 on the album Anthology 1. You Can’t Do That was released as the B-side to Can’t Buy Me Love in 1964. The song was part of The Beatles’ repertoire. A live version recorded at The Hollywood Bowl in 1964 was released on the 2016 album Live At The Hollywood Bowl. The Beatles also recorded it for BBC Radio. A version was released in 2013 on the album On Air – Live At The BBC Volume 2. The song has also been recorded by The Supremes and Harry Nilsson among others.
