This instrumental song was written by John Lennon and George Harrison. It was first recorded by The Beatles in 1961. It was recorded at Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Hamburg, Germany in June 1961 and was produced by Bert Kaempfert. It was first released on the EP, Mistet Twist in France in April 1962 and was credited to Tony Sheridan. Cry For A Shadow was released on an EP in the UK in June 1963. The EP was released on the Polydor label and was credited to Tony Sheridan With The Beatles. The EP also included My Bonnie, The Saints (When The Saints Go Marching In), and Why. Cry For A Shadow was released as a single in the UK and Germany in 1964 and was credited to The Beatles. In America it was released as the B-side to Why in 1964.
