You’re My World (II Mio Mondo).

Umberto Bindi and Gino Paoli wrote this Italian song in 1963. It was first recorded by Umberto Bindi the same year. English lyrics were written by Carl Sigman in 1964. Cilla Black recorded the song in 1964. She recorded it at EMI Studios and it was produced by George Martin. It was released as a single with Suffer Now I Must on the B-side. The single went to number one on the UK Single chart. Cilla Black was a singer from Liverpool who was managed by Brian Epstein. This was her second number one in the UK. In America the single reached number twenty-six on the Billboard chart. The single was on Elvis Presley’s jukebox in 1965. The Beatles and Elvis Presley jammed to the song when The Beatles visited Elvis Presley in August 1965. Cilla Black re-recorded the song in 1985 for her album Surprisingly Cilla and again in 1993 for her album Through The Years.
