0937 Tip Of My Tongue – Tommy Quickly (1963)

This song was written by Paul McCartney but is credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was first recorded by The Beatles in 1962 but their version remains unreleased. Tommy Quickly recorded the song in 1963. He was backed by The Remo Four. Tommy Quickly was a Liverpudlian singer who was managed by Brian Epstein. Tip Of My Tongue was released as a single on the Pye Piccadilly label. The B-side was Heaven Only Knows. The single failed to chart. Both Tommy Quickly and The Remo Four were on The Beatles’ Christmas Show in 1963/64. His other singles included Kiss Me Now.
