Paul McCartney and Chet Atkins.

This song was written and recorded by Chet Atkins in 1957. In America it was released as a single in 1957. The B-side was Blue Echo. In the UK it was released in 1962 on the album Down Home. The album also included versions of Windy And Warm and Steel Guitar Rag. Trambone was part of the repertoire of Merseybeat group The Remo Four. A live version recorded at The Iron Door in 1961 was released in 2003 on the album Unearthed Merseybeat. Chet Atkins’ finger-picking style was an influence on Paul McCartney. He credits Trambone as being the inspiration behind The Beatles’ song Michelle from their 1965 album Rubber Soul.
