This song was written by Sam H. Stept, Herman Ruby and Bud Green in 1929. It was first recorded by Morton Downey in 1929. Since then it has been recorded by Ella Fitzgerald, Brenda Lee, and Jackie Wilson among others. Liverpudlian singer Michael Holliday recorded the song in 1958. His version was released as a single with I’ll Be Lovin’ You Too on the B-side. It reached number twenty-seven in the UK singles chart.The Quarrymen recorded the song on to a private tape in 1960.
