This song was written by Willie Perryman, better known as Piano Red. The song was first recorded by Piano Red’s brother Rufus “Speckled Red” Perryman. Carl Perkins covered the song in 1957 and it was released on his album Dance Album Of Carl Perkins. The song was covered by Gerry And The Pacemakers in 1963. It was released on the album How Do You Like It? The Beatles played the song three times during the Let It Be sessions in 1969. John sings a parody version of the song which he renames Right String, Wrong Yoko.
