Carl Perkins wrote and recorded this song in 1956. It borrows from the 1930s song of the same name written by Rex Griffin. It was first released in 1957 on on the album Dance Album of…Carl Perkins. It was part of The Beatles repertoire and a live version can be heard on the 1977 album Live! At The Star-Club In Hamburg, Germany; 1962. Another live version recorded at Shea Stadium in 1965 was released on Anthology 2 in 1996. A version recorded for BBC radio was released in 1994 on Live At The BBC. A studio version was recorded by the group in 1964 for the album Beatles For Sale. George Harrison and Ringo Starr performed the song with Carl Perkins in 1985 with George taking lead vocals.That version appears on the 1986 album Blue Suede Shoes: A Rockabilly Session.
