Written by Carl Perkins, Bill Cantrell and Quinton Claunch, Sure To Fall was recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955 but wasn’t released until 1957. It was part of The Beatles’ repertoire and was sung by Paul. The Beatles recorded it for their Decca audition in January 1962. They recorded the song four time for BBC radio. One version was released on Live At The BBC in 1994 while a second version was released on On Air – Live At The BBC Volume 2 in 2013. They returned to the song in 1969 during the Let It Be sessions. Wings played the song during rehearsals in 1980. Ringo Starr covered the song for his 1981 album Stop And Smell The Roses. The track was produced by Paul McCartney and features Paul on bass and piano, as well as backing vocals by Linda McCartney. Merseybeat group The Fourmost covered the song in 1965. It was released on their album First And Fourmost.
