Carl Perkins wrote this song in 1957 and it was released as the B-side of Matchbox. It reached number thirteen on the Billboard Country and Western chart. Jerry Lee Lewis played piano on the recording. Ricky Nelson covered the song the same year. The Beatles covered the song during the Let It Be sessions in 1969. Wings played the song during rehearsals in 1980. Your True Love was performed during the 1985 TV special Blue Suede Shoes: A Rockabilly Session. That version is a duet between George Harrison and Carl Perkins and was released in 1986. Paul McCartney performed the song with Carl Perkins in 1993 on the documentary My Old Friend.
