This song was written by Frankie Lymon, Herman Santiago and Jimmy Merchant. They were all members of Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers and they recorded the song in 1955 and it was released as a single with Please Be Mine on the B-side in 1956. It reached number one on the R&B chart and number six on the Billboard chart. The Beach Boys recorded the song in 1964 and released it as the B-side to Fun, Fun, Fun. Merseybeat group The Fourmost recorded the song in 1965 and released it as the B-side to Girls, Girls, Girls. George Harrison saw Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers live at The Empire in Liverpool in March 1957. Part of their set list included the hit I’m Not A Juvenile Delinquent.
