Gracie Fields

This song was written by Will E. Haines, Harry Leon and Leo Towers. The song is a reference to the 1725 song, Sally in Our Alley, a traditional English country dance written by Henry Carey. Sally was recorded by Gracie Fields for the 1931 movie Sally in Our Alley. It was released as a single with Fall In And Follow The Band on the B-side. Merseybeat group The Koobas covered the song in 1967 and released it as a single. Paul McCartney covered the song during a soundcheck at Wembley in 1990. The song was released on the live album Tripping the Live Fantastic.
